Veteran actor Dharmendra has been discharged from Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai, showing signs of recovery after treatment.

Veteran Bollywood actor Dharmendra, aged 88, has been discharged from Mumbai's Breach Candy Hospital following treatment for an undisclosed health issue. Medical professionals confirmed his stable condition on Wednesday, stating he has shown consistent signs of improvement. The actor's family opted for home care, and he was taken home around 7.30 a.m.

Dr Pratit Samdani, a member of the medical team, informed the Press Trust of India (PTI) that Dharmendra's recovery was on track, allowing for his discharge. This news has brought much relief to fans who had been concerned about the health of the beloved star, known for his iconic roles in films such as 'Sholay', 'Chupke Chupke', and 'Phool Aur Patthar'. Reports indicate that Dharmendra was initially admitted for routine observation.

Earlier in the day, Hema Malini, Dharmendra's wife and a prominent actress-politician, expressed her frustration over misleading media reports regarding her husband's health. Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, she stated, "What is happening is unforgivable! How can responsible channels spread false news about a person who is responding to treatment and is recovering? This is being extremely disrespectful and irresponsible." She urged the media to respect the family's privacy during this challenging time.

Esha Deol, the couple's daughter and an actress, echoed her mother's sentiments in an Instagram post. She clarified that her father was indeed stable and recovering, urging the public and media to respect their family's need for privacy. "The media seems to be in overdrive and spreading false news. My father is stable & recovering. We request everyone to give our family privacy. Thank you for the prayers for papa's speedy recovery," she wrote.

Dharmendra's recent health concerns prompted visits from numerous Bollywood stars, including Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, Govinda, and Ameesha Patel, who came to check on the actor's condition. Their presence highlighted the strong affection and respect the film industry has for the veteran actor, who has captivated audiences for more than sixty years.

As news of Dharmendra's discharge circulated, fans took to social media to express their relief and joy. Many shared memorable clips from his films, celebrating him as a "fighter" and a central figure in Indian cinema. With his current home care arrangement and ongoing recovery, the family has once again requested that the public and the media refrain from speculation and allow the actor the privacy he deserves during this recovery period.
