Bengaluru Software Engineer Suspected of Killing His Parents

A tragic incident has emerged from Bengaluru, where a 33-year-old software engineer is suspected of murdering his parents over a financial disagreement. According to police reports, the accused, Rohan Chandra Bhat, is alleged to have used a kitchen knife in the attack on his parents, noted as 60-year-old Naveen Chandra Bhat, a retired Navy Captain, and his 55-year-old wife, Dr. Shyamala Bhat, a practising dentist.

The events unfolded at their home in the upscale Adarsha Vista villa community in Vignan Nagar on Wednesday morning. Authorities reported that Rohan, who had recently returned from the United States, had been living separately from his parents due to ongoing strained relations.

The confrontation reportedly started on Tuesday night when Rohan visited his parents. An argument erupted over his request for financial support to initiate a new business venture. Police suggest that this argument intensified, leading to the alleged attack on Wednesday morning.

Following the incident, neighbours rushed the victims to a nearby hospital; however, they were unfortunately declared dead on arrival. Rohan was apprehended by police just hours later and has since been remanded in judicial custody. His medical examination was conducted following his arrest.

As investigations continue, police are working to gather further insights into the circumstances surrounding this tragic event. Authorities have expressed their condolences to the victims' family and are focused on ensuring justice in the matter.
