Aryan Khan Prepares for Directorial Debut with Shah Rukh Khan Project
Aryan Khan is set to make his directorial debut in cinema, aiming for a 2027 film featuring his father, Shah Rukh Khan, in a prominent role.

Aryan Khan is poised to transition from director of the web series to the big screen. Following his debut with the OTT release of 'The Ba***ds of Bollywood', he is preparing for his first feature film, which is slated to commence filming in 2026.

Details regarding the plot and cast of the upcoming project remain confidential. However, reports indicate that Shah Rukh Khan, Aryan's father and a prominent actor in Indian cinema, will not take on the lead role in this initial venture. Aryan aims to captivate audiences with a unique cinematic experience, establishing his reputation as a filmmaker.

Earning the chance to direct his father is a goal for Aryan, who seeks to gain this opportunity through merit and hard work. According to an article by Pinkvilla, Aryan is determined to achieve success with his own projects and let his filmmaking speak for itself before he embarks on a collaboration with Shah Rukh Khan. If all proceeds as planned, Aryan's third directorial effort will feature his father in a leading capacity. The duo has already discussed the core concept, but the collaboration is projected to materialise in 2027. Presently, Aryan is concentrating on completing the script for his second film, which will soon enter the casting phase.

The web series 'The Ba***ds of Bollywood' debuted on Netflix on September 18, 2025. This action comedy-drama, produced by Gauri Khan under the banner of Red Chillies Entertainment, presents an insider's view of the Bollywood film industry through the eyes of Aasmaan Singh, an aspiring filmmaker who navigates the challenges of success in an industry marked by ambition and nepotism. The series addresses themes such as fame and competition, showcasing Aasmaan and his companions as they traverse the often harsh realities of cinema.

Featuring a strong ensemble cast that includes Bobby Deol, Lakshya Lalwani, and Sahher Bambba, the series also features special appearances by major stars such as Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, and Aamir Khan.

In the meantime, Shah Rukh Khan is engaged in filming his upcoming movie 'King', directed by Siddharth Anand. This high-energy action drama is set to be released in 2026 and will also mark the film debut of Shah Rukh Khan's daughter, Suhana Khan. The cast is rumoured to include well-known actors such as Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Anil Kapoor, and Arshad Warsi, with filming occurring in various international locations including Spain, Dubai, and Mumbai.
