Arunachal Pradesh CM Invites Residents to Mark PM Modi's Birthday
Pema Khandu, the Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, has called on the state's residents to join the 'Aashirwad Ka Diya' initiative on 17 September. This campaign coincides with the birthday of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and forms part of the 'Seva Sankalp Abhiyan', a project emphasising public service and good governance. Khandu stated that the lighting of the 'Lamp of Blessings' will symbolise a collective commitment to public service and the nation's progress. In a message shared across social media platforms, the Chief Minister urged families to illuminate their homes between 6 pm and 7 pm, saying, "Let us light the ‘Lamp of Blessings’ in our homes… symbolising our shared resolve towards service and the continued progress of our nation." He expressed gratitude for Modi's years of service, stating, "Our heartfelt thanks to him for his continued commitment to public service and the nation." This initiative is intended to foster goodwill among the community and is described as providing an opportunity for people to collectively mark the occasion. Khandu characterised the diya, or lamp, as an emblem of "gratitude, goodwill and wishes for long life and continued service to ‘Mother India’". The 'Seva Sankalp Abhiyan' aims to uphold the ideals of public service, good governance, and active nation-building.
