Alia Bhatt Shines at Mijwan Fashion Show in Manish Malhotra Creation

The annual Mijwan Fashion Show was held on September 26, 2026, at Taj Lands End in Mumbai. This year's event celebrated ethical luxury and heritage in fashion while raising funds for the Mijwan Welfare Society, an organisation dedicated to women's empowerment founded by the late poet Kaifi Azmi's daughter, Shabana Azmi.

The show featured a collaboration with renowned designer Manish Malhotra. His works are known for incorporating traditional craftsmanship into modern haute couture, illustrating the intricate thread-work and chikankari embroidery of rural artisans from Uttar Pradesh.

The event showcased numerous celebrities, including Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal, who stole the limelight with their sartorial choices. Alia Bhatt wore a regal ivory lace sari embellished with scalloped edges and silver sequins, complemented by a matching dupatta elegantly draped over her head.

Vicky Kaushal, matching her style, donned a midnight-blue and ivory bandhgala jacket adorned with detailed chikankari work, paired with a crisp white kurta and flared trousers.

Other notable appearances included Sanya Malhotra in a striking black gown, characterized by a corset bodice and sheer dupatta, and Kajol who illuminated the runway in a sparkling pastel-pink sari, perfectly styled with a chic clutch.

Khushi Kapoor made an impression in a blush pink bodycon dress with multi-coloured floral embroidery, elevated by a sheer tulle cape. Meanwhile, Rakul Preet Singh and Jackky Bhagnani coordinated their outfits, with Rakul wearing a halter-neck sari featuring autumnal motifs, and Jackky opting for a textured long sherwani.

Madhuri Dixit brought timeless elegance in an ivory sari, finely draped and paired with an embellished clutch, while her husband, Dr Nene, complemented her with a jet-black embroidered suit.

This event not only celebrated fashion but also highlighted social causes, making it a significant night for both the fashion industry and the advocacy for rural women's livelihoods.
