Akanksha Chamola Addresses ₹10 Crore Alimony Rumours Amid Divorce
Akanksha Chamola, known for her appearance on the show 'Lock Upp 2', has come forward to address speculation surrounding her divorce from fellow television actor Gaurav Khanna. The actress made headlines after revealing their impending separation, which led to considerable discussion, particularly regarding claims that she demanded ₹10 crore in alimony.
In an interview with Mashable India, Akanksha responded to these allegations. She stated, 'If I had demanded and received that amount, then I would not have cared to sit here. If I had that much money, I would have left the country by now.' She further elaborated that with such a sum, she would have the opportunity to explore different places around the world.
Following her announcement about the divorce, Gaurav Khanna appeared as a guest on 'Lock Upp 2', expressing concern over the impact of Akanksha's revelation on their families. He noted that the situation had caused significant shock and required him to manage reactions from both sides of their families.
Additionally, Akanksha discussed her personal journey during the interview. She revealed aspects of her sexual orientation and her desire not to have children, stating that she has identified as bisexual before her marriage, and has since become asexual. She explained, 'Most people get married to have kids and take forward family lineage; otherwise, why would you get married? He is not wrong on his part. And then Bigg Boss happened, and I realised that he wants it badly, and I am unable to provide him that.'
Akanksha Chamola and Gaurav Khanna's relationship began during an audition, culminating in their marriage on 24 November 2016. Their wedding, held in Kanpur, was a lavish three-day affair.
