Aditi Sharma Allegedly Abused by Husband and In-Laws, Police Involved
Aditi Sharma, known for her role in the television series Kaleerein, has lodged a complaint with the Mumbai police accusing her husband, Abhineet Kaushik, and his family of domestic violence. The formal complaint has been filed at the Goregaon Police Station, and an official report has been initiated against her husband, mother-in-law Urmila Kaushik, and sister-in-law Kirti Kaushik. The police are currently investigating the allegations.
According to Aditi’s report, the alleged mistreatment began shortly after their wedding, which took place on November 12, 2024. Aditi claims that the abuse manifested in various forms, including physical aggression, verbal insults, and emotional distress. She has alleged that the violence intensified over the months that followed their marriage.
In her statement, Aditi has voiced several specific accusations against her husband and in-laws. These include continuous harassment and cruelty, as well as withholding her bridal jewellery and other valuables. Aditi also reported that arguments started concerning trivial matters, such as her clothing choices, but escalated into more severe issues.
The actress asserted that her husband would often borrow money from her rather than participate in managing their household expenses. Additionally, Aditi claimed that he exhibited controlling behaviour, frequently checking her mobile phone for messages and interactions while discouraging her from communicating with her family.
Aditi accused her mother-in-law of keeping her jewellery, which includes gold ornaments and rings. She stated that rather than offering support during conflicts, both her mother-in-law and sister-in-law sided with Abhineet, exacerbating the situation.
This recent development has brought renewed attention to discussions about domestic violence within the entertainment sector in India. Aditi and Abhineet reportedly met during an online acting class in June 2021, and their relationship evolved into a romantic partnership over a few years. They eventually got married in a private ceremony at their Goregaon residence.
Despite living together prior to their marriage, Aditi claims the relationship quickly deteriorated, prompting her to seek legal intervention. The police have registered her complaint, and the investigation is ongoing to ascertain the validity of her allegations. The unfolding situation continues to highlight the challenges surrounding domestic abuse, particularly within high-profile relationships in the entertainment industry.
