Aamir Khan Explains Early Advance Bookings for Ek Din Film
Aamir Khan discusses the strategy behind opening advance bookings 39 days before the release of Ek Din, a romantic drama starring Junaid Khan.

Aamir Khan, the prominent Bollywood actor and producer, recently shared insights into the advance booking strategy for his upcoming film, Ek Din. Scheduled for release on May 1, the film's advance bookings commenced a notable 39 days prior, a move perceived as unconventional within the industry.

In an interview with Just Too Filmy, Aamir Khan elaborated on the reasoning behind this decision. He explained that the film, featuring rising star Junaid Khan and acclaimed actress Sai Pallavi, was considered relatively small-scale. He stated, 'Ek Din is a very small film, in the sense that it has got actors who are very new. Junaid has barely started his career, and Sai is doing her first film in Hindi.'

Aamir expressed his belief that the film required extra time to gain traction, reaffirming, 'So I thought this film would need a little more time to get traction. So the earlier we start, the better.' This approach highlights a deliberate effort to create awareness and build anticipation ahead of the film's debut.

He further praised the film's director, Sunil Pandey, for his dedicated efforts. 'He has done such an amazing job. He has worked so hard for the film; he is very persevering,' Aamir noted. While acknowledging the uncertainty surrounding the film's commercial success, Aamir emphasised the importance of faithful storytelling, saying, 'What is important for me is whether we are able to bring the script alive in the film.'

Ek Din, produced under the Aamir Khan Productions banner alongside Mansoor Khan and Aparna Purohit, is a romantic drama that serves as a remake of the 2016 Thai film One Day. The film depicts the emotional journey of a young man who wishes to share a day with a colleague he admires, only to find that his desire unexpectedly comes true.

The unusual advance booking timeframe reflects a strategic effort to ensure the film receives the attention it desires leading up to its release. Aamir's insights present a poignant reminder of the intricacies involved in producing and promoting films within the competitive landscape of Bollywood.
