Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) has launched its new SUV, the Victoris, with an introductory price of Rs 10.50 lakh, ex-showroom. Sales are scheduled to start on 22 September 2025, while bookings are already open.

Impressive Safety Ratings

The Victoris has received crucial safety endorsements, achieving a full 5-star crash test rating from both the Global New Car Assessment Programme (NCAP) and the Bharat NCAP. This makes it the safest vehicle in the Maruti Suzuki lineup to date.

Engine and Performance Options

The Maruti Suzuki Victoris is based on the powertrain and drivetrain configurations of the Grand Vitara model. There are two engine options:
1. 1.5L Naturally Aspirated Petrol Engine: 103 horsepower and 139 Nm of torque. It offers two transmission choices, a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic, along with a factory-fitted CNG option. Additionally, an All-Wheel Drive (AWD) layout is available with the automatic transmission, featuring a Multi-Terrain Mode Selector that includes Auto, Snow, Sport, and Lock drive modes, as well as hill descent control.
2. 1.5L Strong Hybrid Setup: Delivering 92.5 horsepower and 122 Nm of torque, this option comes with an e-CVT transmission.

Fuel Efficiency

The fuel economy for the Victoris varies with engine choice:

- The 1.5L petrol engine achieves approximately 21.18 km/l with the manual and 21.06 km/l with the automatic transmission. In AWD format, it delivers 19.07 km/l, while the CNG variant claims a mileage of 27.02 km/kg. The hybrid variant promises an impressive efficiency of 28.65 km/l.

Crash Test Performance

In its recent crash tests, the Victoris performed exceptionally well. It secured a 5-star safety rating from Global NCAP for both adult and child occupant protection:
Adult Occupant Protection: Scored highly in frontal and side impact tests, with comprehensive safety features rated as satisfactory.  
Child Occupant Protection: Received full credits for its child restraint system during various crash tests, demonstrating effective safety features for young passengers.
