India-Russia Foreign Office Consultations: Foreign Secretary Misri meets Russian counterpart in Moscow
The India-Russia Foreign Office Consultations were held in Moscow on March 7, 2025.
Both sides took stock of progress on the implementation of decisions taken at the 22nd Annual Summit held in Moscow in July 2024.
India and Russia discussed the entire gamut of bilateral ties, as well as regional and global issues of mutual interest, at the Foreign Office Consultations in Moscow on Friday (March 7, 2025). 

The talks were led by Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri and Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko. The meeting assumes significance in view of renewed efforts to end the Ukraine conflict.

According to information shared by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), both sides took stock of progress on the implementation of decisions taken at the 22nd Annual Summit held in Moscow in July 2024 and the meeting in Kazan on the sidelines of the 16th BRICS Summit between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Vladimir Putin.

It may be recalled that Prime Minister Modi and President Putin met in Moscow on July 9, 2024 for wide- ranging talks as part of the 22nd India-Russia Annual Summit. The two leaders discussed ways to diversify bilateral cooperation across sectors like trade and commerce, security, and people-to-people ties. 

During the summit, Prime Minister Modi and President Putin also highlighted transport & connectivity; energy partnership; civil nuclear cooperation and cooperation in space; and cooperation in education and in science & technology.

The two leaders also met on the sidelines of the BRICS Summit in Kazan, Russia on October 22, 2024.

During the visit, Foreign Secretary also held meetings with Maxim Oreshkin, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Russian Presidential Executive Office; Yury Ushakov, Aide to the Russian President; and Alexey Gruzdev, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade.

During Friday's Foreign Office Consultations, the two sides also reviewed progress since the 25th session of the India-Russia Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technological and Cultural Cooperation held in New Delhi in November 2024, and other high level engagements.

Additionally, Foreign Secretary Misri also held meetings with Maxim Oreshkin, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Russian Presidential Executive Office; Yury Ushakov, Aide to the Russian President; and Alexey Gruzdev, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade.

The last round of Foreign Office Consultations was held in New Delhi in November 2023.
