Indian and Uruguayan officials convened for the 6th round of their Foreign Office Consultations (FOC) on September 16, 2024, in Montevideo, Uruguay. A notable outcome of the meeting was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the Gainful Employment of Relatives of Diplomats. This agreement, signed by Dinesh Bhatia, Ambassador of India to Argentina and Uruguay, and Nicolas Albertoni, facilitates employment opportunities for relatives of diplomats stationed in the respective countries, thereby deepening personal and professional ties between the two nations.
Both sides expressed satisfaction with the progress of their relations and agreed to explore further avenues of cooperation. They also scheduled the next round of FOCs at a mutually convenient date, underscoring their commitment to maintaining and enhancing the diplomatic dialogue.
