MoS Muraleedharan visits facilities of Indian companies operating in the UAE
In another step forward in strengthening relations between India and the United Arab Emirates, Minister of State for External Affairs V Muraleedharan visited the UAE on January 13-14, 2024.
 
His engagements included a series of industrial visits in Ras Al Khaimah on Sunday (January 14, 2024). These visits underscored the deepening economic and cultural connections between the two nations.
 
Indian Companies Foster Economic Ties
 
The minister's itinerary included a visit to the plant run by Ashok Leyland, a leading Indian commercial vehicle manufacturer. He was presented with a comprehensive overview of the company’s operations, highlighting the remarkable growth from a modest capacity of 2,000 vehicles per annum to an impressive 6,000.
 
MoS Muraleedharan praised Ashok Leyland's achievements. “Happy to have toured Ashok Leyland plant in Ras Al Kaimah, UAE, observed assembling process & interacted with workers. Companies like Ashok Leyland have been playing a crucial role in fostering rapid economic ties between India and the UAE,” he wrote on social media platform X.
 
He also invited diplomats from African countries to visit Ashok Leyland's Pant Nagar plant in Uttarakhand, India, highlighting India's expertise and capabilities in automotive manufacturing on the global stage. Further, he promoted the implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Skill Development Yojana at the plant, emphasizing skill development to bridge existing workforce gaps.
 
Expanding Economic Partnerships

Expanding his engagements in Ras Al Khaimah, Minister Muraleedharan visited the Dabur International manufacturing plant and Helios Cosmetics and Perfumes Ltd. These visits aimed to grow the presence of Indian companies in the UAE by reshaping their role in strengthening the economic bonds between the two countries. The minister interacted with workers and engaged in discussions about potential collaborations, emphasizing the importance of such partnerships in enhancing India-UAE economic ties.
 
Community Engagement and Diplomatic Efforts

MoS Muraleedharan additionally met members of the Indian Relief Committee and Indian Business and Professional Council. He addressed community grievances and assured diplomatic measures to further strengthen people-to-people ties. Additionally, he shared details of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's upcoming 'Ahlan Modi' event on February 13, 2024 at Sheikh Zayed Sports Stadium in Abu Dhabi, encouraging community participation.
 
Inaugurating the International Ayush Conference

On January 13, 2024, MoS Muraleedharan inaugurated the second International Ayush Conference as the chief guest, highlighting the theme "Non-Communicable Chronic Diseases - Prevention & Management through AYUSH." He expressed his enthusiasm for AYUSH's role in preventing and managing non-communicable diseases, emphasizing its cost-effectiveness and prevention-oriented approach.
 
MoS Muraleedharan's visit to the UAE, marked by a series of productive industrial visits and community interactions, significantly contributed to strengthening the multifaceted relations between India and the UAE.
