The India-UAE Comprehensive Strategic Partnership has been steadily strengthening
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Abu Dhabi on July 15, 2023 to hold wide-ranging talks with President of the United Arab Emirates and ruler of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The visit aims to take forward bilateral ties in key areas of energy, food security, and defence. He will be in the UAE on his way back from France after a two-day visit on July 13-14.
The India-UAE Comprehensive Strategic Partnership has been steadily strengthening and Prime Minister Modi's visit will be an opportunity to identify ways to take this forward in various domains such as energy, education, healthcare, food security, fintech, defence and culture, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said on Wednesday (July 12, 2023).
It will also be an opportunity to discuss cooperation on global issues, particularly in the context of UAE’s Presidency of COP-28 of the UNFCCC and India’s G-20 Presidency in which UAE is a Special Invitee, the MEA added.
This visit marks PM Modi's fifth trip to the Gulf country since assuming office in 2014. The last visit was in June 2022, on his way back from the G7 Summit in Germany, when Prime Minister Modi met Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to express condolences on the passing of former President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
It is worth pointing out that India, France, and the UAE had formed a strategic partnership in September 2022, on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) session. They had agreed to work together on nuclear and Solar energy as well as climate change and biodiversity.
