PM Modi stressed on greater collaboration between Indian & Australian enterprises
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had productive meetings with top Australian business leaders on Tuesday (May 23, 2023), emphasizing the significance of enhancing collaboration between Indian and Australian enterprises in important fields including technology, skill development, and renewable energy.

As part of his three-nation visit, Prime Minister Modi landed in Sydney on Monday. He later held bilateral discussions with top representatives of several significant Australian businesses. These included CEO of AustralianSuper Paul Schroder; Executive Chairman of Fortescue Future Industries and Fortescue Metals Company Andrew Forrest; and Executive Chairman of Hancock Prospecting Gina Rinehart.

In his discussions with Gina Rinehart, Prime Minister Modi highlighted the transformative reforms and initiatives being undertaken in India and invited her to partner in technology, investment and skilling in the mining and minerals sector.

He met the CEO of AustralianSuper, a superannuation fund with its main office in Melbourne, Victoria. "Prime Minister highlighted India’s credentials as one of the most preferred major economies for foreign investments in the world and invited AustralianSuper to partner with India," an official release by the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) said.

During the day, Prime Minister Modi also met Forrest and welcomed Fortescue Group’s plans to work with Indian companies in the field of Green Hydrogen. "Emphasizing India’s ambitious renewable energy plans, Prime Minister highlighted the transformative reforms and initiatives being taken by India, such as the Green Hydrogen Mission," the PMO said.

Forrest briefed Prime Minister Modi on Fortescue Future Industries plans and projects in India.
