India is showcasing its heritage and culture during its ongoing G20 presidency
On the first day of the G-20 Agriculture Working Group Meeting in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, delegates from the member nations went on a heritage walk.
They visited the historical Holkar State of Indore's Rajwada Palace and 'Chhatris' (umbrella structures). During the heritage walk, they also savoured regional cuisine and got some interesting glimpses of culture.
The heritage walk started from Boliya Sarkar Smarak Chhatri and reached Rajwada passing through Krishnapura Chhatri.
The delegates later spoke with the media. District administration and agricultural ministry representatives went on the heritage walk with the delegation.
The official G20 Twitter account shared photographs of the heritage walk a d wrote, "What better than to start the day with a Heritage Walk to Indore’s crown jewel – the Rajwada Palace! Delegates at the #G20agri2023 take the journey through the royal lanes of the past to witness the splendour and magnificence of Indore!"
Indore hosted the opening session of the Agriculture Deputies Meeting under India's G20 leadership. This is the first G20 meeting being held in Madhya Pradesh.
The delegates came together for 'Stock taking of G20 initiatives in agriculture'.
Experts and representatives from the agriculture sector are taking part in the three-day conference, which ends on February 15, to discuss a variety of topics, including wheat initiatives, agriculture risk management, climate-smart initiatives, small farmers adopting climate-smart technology, agriculture market information systems, and reducing food loss.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan inaugurated the event. Later, he also launched an exhibition on agriculture startups and millets.
