India's voice was now being heard on a global scale, Prime Minister Modi said
Lauding members of the Indian diaspora for acting as the country's brand ambassadors across the world, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that they echo the voice of a powerful and capable India.

Addressing the 17th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas Convention in Indore, Madhya Pradesh on Monday, he said, “You are the Rashtradoots (national ambassadors) of India’s heritage, of Make in India, of Yoga and Ayurveda, of India’s cottage industries and handicrafts".

Prime Minister Modi added that the overseas Indian population is a tangible example of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam's ethos. "Today, we see crores of overseas Indians on the global map… the spirit of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam is visible," he said.

He continued by saying that the world had great hopes from India and that India's voice was now being heard on a global scale.

"India is being looked at with hope and curiosity. India’s voice is being heard on the global stage. India is also the host of this year’s G20. We do not want to make it only a diplomatic event, but an event of people’s participation, PM Modi said.

The Prime Minister went on to commend the youth, referring to them as the country's "skilled capital."

"India not only has the capability of becoming a knowledge centre but also a skilled capital. Our youth has skills, values, honesty and determination toward work. Our skilled capital can become the world’s growth engine," he said.

Speaking on India's G20 chairmanship, he stated that the country wants to make the summit more than just a diplomatic gathering by including the general public.

He said that India's scale and speed are of interest to the whole globe.

"The world is interested in India’s speed and scale. They are interested in India’s future. When it comes to a cashless economy, the world is surprised to see that 40 per cent of the world’s Real-Time Digital transactions take place in India," PM Modi said.

Prime Minister Modi officially inaugurated the three-day 17th edition of the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas convention.
The conference is taking place over three days, and its theme is "Diaspora: Reliable Partners for India's Progress in Amrit Kaal." Chandrikapersad Santokhi, president of the Republic of Suriname, is the special guest of honor, while Dr. Mohamed Irfaan Ali, president of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana, is the chief guest.

The first day (Sunday) had seen discussions during the Youth Pravasi Bharatiya Divas 2023.
