Director, North Campus, Prof. Naseer Iqbal in his inaugural remarks emphasized on the 'need of organizing more and more such programmes'

Fundamental Rights and Duties Cell of University of Kashmir organized a seminar on the theme of ‘Fundamental Rights and Duties’ at North Campus of Kashmir University wherein issues pertaining to rights and duties were deliberated upon by various speakers and experts.

In his presidential address, Chief Coordinator, FRDAC, Dr Shahid Rasool impressed upon the participants to know how various fundamental duties are important in shaping the development and growth of any individual society.

He highlighted the aims and objectives of conducting seminars on such issues and themes and urged the participants to take these opportunities for enlightenment and for translating the same into action.

Dr Shahid Rasool further talked about the role that we can play in safeguarding our environment and do away with the culture of pollution and waste of resources.

Mr. Faizan Iqbal, in his keynote address, talked about developing a culture of taking responsibilities and learning to behave as a responsible citizens and inhabitants of the earth. He highlighted the need of “developing a humane and caring attitude towards fellow human beings and the environment as a whole.”

Advocate Sheikh Iqbal talked about rights and duties and urged the audience to “first start doing their duties before they start asking for their rights.”

Director North Campus, KU Prof. Naseer Iqbal in his inaugural remarks emphasized on the “need of organizing more and more such programmes so that citizens in general are sensitized about rights and duties in the light of constitution.”

“He urged the speakers to “brainstorm the participants regarding how we should live and
behave as citizens and civilized inhabitants of the planet.”

Dr. Mohammad Ameen Parray presented the vote of thanks and Ms.Maleeha Gul conducted the proceedings of the seminar.
