The Jammu and Kashmir government banned the manufacturing, stocking, sale and use of polythene bags across the state in 2017

J&K Pollution Control Board (JKPCB) launched an anti-polythene drive here in the main market of the town and confiscated banned polythene bags from the shopkeepers.

A joint team led by District Officer, PCB, Anupam Koul comprising police officers, officers of other department besides officials of the board, raided various shops at Bus Stand and Upper Bazaar of the town and confiscated banned polythene bags of less than 50 microns.

District Officer directed the shopkeepers to refrain from using or selling polythene bags. Pertinently, the Jammu and Kashmir government banned the manufacturing, stocking, sale and use of polythene bags across the state in 2017.
