The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JK BOSE) on Wednesday declared the results of Class XII in which 76 percent passed the exams which is the highest pass percentage in the region in the last more than a decade. The exams were held in October-November last year. The officials from BOSE said of the 46,599 students that had appeared, 35,454 students qualified the exam, making the pass percentage 76.08 percent. In the exams, 10,780 students have to reappear, 365 students have failed. The result is better this year as last year only 51.77 percent students had qualified the exams. In the past 16 years, the highest number of students have qualified the board exams this year.

BOSE chairperson Veena Pandita while congratulating the students commended officials for the timely declaration of results.
“Those who have not qualified should not lose hope and try again in future,” she said.

The girls have shown better performance in the exams as most of them have appeared in the merit list. As many as 55 girls are among the toppers who have secured positions in four streams and 13 boys have also shared positions among the top 10 in different streams.

The Toppers
The first position has been shared by Humera Rashid and Isha Bashir from science stream of KIE and Mallinson Girls Higher Secondary School with 490 marks out of 500.

The second position has been secured by Sadiq Peerzada from Tyndale Biscoe School with 488 marks.
The third position was bagged by Leeba Aijaz and Anika Khurshid who fetched 486 marks.
