The Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) Police on Sunday confirmed the arrest of a deputy superintendent of J&K Police along with two Hizbul Mujahideen and Lashkar-e-Taiba militants in south Kashmir. Addressing a press conference on the arrest of the senior cop, IGP J&K Police Vijay Kumar said the arrested cop would be treated and investigated as a terrorist.

The J&K Police on Saturday detained a senior police officer, Davindra Singh, along with two militants -- Naveed Babu and Altaf -- when the trio was travelling in a vehicle on Srinagar-Jammu highway on Saturday.
Five grenades and three AK-47 rifles were also recovered from the top cop's residence, top sources said.
