Yami Gautam Stars in New Thriller 'Nayyi Navelli' Trailer Release
The trailer for the forthcoming film 'Nayyi Navelli' has recently been launched, featuring actress Yami Gautam in a lead role. Following her success at the National Awards, Gautam returns in a distinctive character named Mohini.
Directed by Balaji Mohan, 'Nayyi Navelli' presents a horror mystery set against a familial backdrop. The story begins with Mohini entering the Awasthi household as a new bride. While her in-laws appear welcoming, there are murmurs among some family members who suspect she could be a daayan, a term for a traditional witch in Indian folklore. This undertone of intrigue adds depth to the plot, which blends elements of family dynamics, secrets, and supernatural elements.
Yami Gautam expressed her enthusiasm for playing Mohini, noting that the character allowed her to delve into varied emotions and genres. She remarked, “What drew me to Mohini is that she is never quite what you expect. There’s a warmth and familiarity to her, but also a mystery that slowly reveals itself.”
The film boasts a supporting cast that includes Addinath M Kothare, Sunita Rajwar, Anurag Thakur, and Prateek Pachori, among others. The writing team, comprising Himanshu Sharma and Divy Nidhi Sharma, aims to keep audiences engaged with unexpected twists throughout the narrative.
Music for 'Nayyi Navelli' is composed by G. V. Prakash Kumar, adding another layer to the film's overall presentation. It is set to hit theatres on October 16 and is anticipated to compete against other releases, such as 'Drishyam The Conclusion' and 'Jailer 2'.
As audiences eagerly await its release, 'Nayyi Navelli' promises an engaging blend of humour, emotion, and suspense, showcasing Yami Gautam in a gripping new role.
