Vivek Agnihotri Announces Major Film Inspired by Operation Sindoor
Filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri confirms a new project based on Operation Sindoor, focusing on India's military response following a tragic incident in Jammu and Kashmir.

Filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri has confirmed he is working on a significant film project inspired by Operation Sindoor, which involved India's military strikes targeting terrorist centres in Pakistan. The project has generated considerable speculation regarding its connection to the events following the Pahalgam attack in 2025.

Recent reports, including one by Pinkvilla, suggest that Agnihotri is collaborating with T-Series, a prominent Indian film production company, to develop this film. The operation itself serves as the backdrop for the narrative, which is expected to portray the codename used for India's military actions against terrorist sites in Pakistan and the area of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.

Speaking with IndiaToday.in, Vivek Agnihotri stated, "I am not disclosing any name. I am saying I am working on a big nationalistic project, and I will announce it at my own time. It’s very big, very interesting." This confirmation has heightened interest in the project, although specifics about the film, including its title and release date, have yet to be disclosed.

Reports indicate that the collaboration between producer Bhushan Kumar and Agnihotri will see the film produced under both T-Series and I Am Buddha Production. The source close to the production hinted at a narrative that draws from the tragic massacre of tourists in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which prompted the military action.

Operation Sindoor commenced on May 7, 2025, following the brutal attack on civilians, most of whom were tourists in Pahalgam. The objectives of this operation included dismantling terror launchpads and preventing further infiltration across the border. It was characterised as a calibrated military response to counter the ongoing threat from terrorist activities in the region.

As the anticipation builds for Agnihotri’s upcoming project, it comes at a time when T-Series is celebrating the success of its latest release, Border 2. Meanwhile, Agnihotri's previous film, The Bengal Files, which concluded his Files Trilogy, was released in September 2025. This background adds to the excitement surrounding his next venture, particularly given the recent popularity of films that address real-life conflicts involving India and Pakistan.

As further details regarding the cast and production timeline remain under wraps, fans and industry analysts alike await an official announcement from Agnihotri and T-Series regarding this intriguing project.
