Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff has emerged uninjured from a shooting incident in Mumbai, Indian police have reported. The 36-year-old actor was targeted while in a car leaving a football club in the Juhu area of the city on Sunday evening.

Eyewitness accounts and video footage from various news outlets show at least two assailants firing multiple rounds at close range toward the front passenger seat of Shroff’s vehicle as it moved past a crowd. Fortunately, the actor did not sustain any gunshot wounds. However, at least two individuals were reported injured, including Shroff’s driver, according to local media sources.

This incident has triggered increased concern regarding the safety of public figures in India, where there have been numerous incidents of targeted attacks in recent years. Eknath Shinde, the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, expressed his condemnation of such violence. "These attempts to intimidate people will not be tolerated, and we will put an end to this hooliganism," he stated during a visit to Shroff following the attack. Shinde noted that both the actor and his mother were understandably shaken by the event.

The shooting adds to a concerning trend involving prominent personalities in India facing violent threats. In 2024, police apprehended members of a criminal gang implicated in an attack targeting the residence of fellow Bollywood star Salman Khan. That same year saw the shocking murder of politician Baba Siddique in Mumbai.

Tiger Shroff, who is the son of two well-known actors, made his cinematic debut in 2014 with the romantic film 'Heropanti' and has since featured in numerous successful films. He is also an avid football fan, playing for the professional team Mumbai FC. Notably, Shroff had recently faced legal issues, having been detained and released during a protest in Mumbai on 10 October.

This event raises broader questions concerning the security measures in place for celebrities and public figures in India, highlighting the need for enhanced protective strategies amid these troubling trends.
