Tata Harrier and Safari Introduce New Petrol Variants in India
Tata Motors has unveiled petrol variants of its popular SUVs, the Tata Harrier and Tata Safari, with prices commencing from ₹12.89 lakh and ₹13.29 lakh, respectively. This move marks a significant expansion of Tata's product offerings in India, catering to increasing consumer demand for petrol-powered vehicles.
The petrol versions are equipped with a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine, generating 160 bhp and 250 Nm of torque. Both models are available with a choice of a six-speed manual or an automatic transmission. This engine is designed to provide a blend of power and efficiency, aiming to appeal to a broader audience looking for performance and fuel economy.
A notable feature of the new variants is their enhanced driving dynamics, with the petrol engine expected to offer a smoother driving experience compared to the diesel counterparts. According to experts, this shift aligns with the growing trend of consumers favouring petrol engines due to changing fuel preferences and emission standards.
The Tata Harrier, a five-seater SUV, is renowned for its modern design and spacious interior, making it suitable for families. The Tata Safari, a larger seven-seater version, is equipped with several features aimed at improving comfort and convenience during long journeys.
Additionally, both models come with a suite of technological features, including advanced infotainment systems, smartphone connectivity, and safety enhancements, ensuring they meet contemporary consumer expectations.
“Tata Motors is committed to providing choices that cater to the diverse needs of our customers. The introduction of petrol variants will allow us to reach a wider demographic,” said a spokesperson from Tata Motors.
These new petrol models will be available at showrooms across India, with the company aiming to strengthen its position in the competitive SUV market. The launch reflects a strategic response to the rapidly evolving automotive landscape, where petrol vehicles are experiencing a resurgence amid fluctuating fuel prices and enhanced eco-consciousness among consumers.
Overall, the introduction of petrol variants for the Tata Harrier and Tata Safari represents an important step for Tata Motors as it continues to innovate and adapt within the Indian automotive sector. The expansion is expected to attract more customers looking for robust and versatile vehicles that are both stylish and practical.
