Taapsee Pannu's 'Gandhari' Trailer Unveiled Ahead of Netflix Release
The highly anticipated trailer for the upcoming action thriller, 'Gandhari', featuring Bollywood actress Taapsee Pannu, has been released by Netflix. The film tells the gripping story of a mother’s desperate quest to save her kidnapped daughter. The trailer reveals how Taapsee's character, a blind mother, faces insurmountable challenges after witnessing her daughter abducted from a train.
In a series of intense scenes, viewers witness the mother's transformation as she prepares herself to combat the unknown dangers ahead. Despite losing her eyesight in a subsequent accident while trying to save her daughter, her determination remains unshaken as she vows not to return without her child, named Mishty.
Critics and fans have already responded positively to the trailer, highlighting Taapsee Pannu's fierce portrayal. One viewer expressed enthusiasm, saying, "Very promising trailer, will definitely watch it," while another commented, "Taapsee in an action movie is exhilarating."
Speaking about her role, Taapsee Pannu reflected on the strength of her character, stating, “What stayed with me throughout Gandhari was Bani's refusal to give up, even when everything seemed stacked against her.” She emphasised the physical demands of the role, as well as the emotional depth that drew her into the story. Adding to her enthusiasm, she noted the special partnership she has developed with the film's writer and producer, Kanika Dhillon, as they continue to create narratives centred around strong, complex female characters.
The film is directed by Devashish Makhija, who mentioned, “What drew me to Gandhari was the potential to visually build a mysterious, layered world that hasn’t been seen before on screen.” He highlighted that the film not only thrives on suspense and action but also explores the deeper themes of love and sacrifice.
Set in the fictional town of Joypurra, 'Gandhari' showcases the resilience and hope of a mother as she navigates hidden truths and unexpected allies in her quest. The storyline intertwines the lives of various characters, including Ishwak Singh, who plays a distraught father, and Jatin Sarna, an officer investigating the kidnapping case.
Other notable cast members include Swastika Mukherjee, Mita Vashisht, and Chhaya Kadam, all contributing to the ensemble that aims to engage audiences with a dramatic narrative.
