Seven Indian Workers Die in Dubai Road Accident
Seven Indians have died and nine others were injured in a road accident involving a minibus and a truck on Emirates Road in Dubai.

Seven Indian nationals tragically lost their lives and nine others sustained injuries following a severe road accident in Dubai on June 8, 2026. The incident occurred when a minibus collided with a truck that had come to an abrupt halt on Emirates Road.

Brigadier Juma Salem bin Suwaidan, who is the Director of the General Department of Traffic at Dubai Police, reported that the truck stopped suddenly due to a technical malfunction. The bus driver allegedly failed to maintain a safe following distance, leading to the crash.

"The accident resulted in seven fatalities and nine injuries, including five serious and four moderate cases. All those injured have been transported to the hospital for necessary medical treatment," Brigadier Salem stated in an official report.

The Indian Consulate in Dubai expressed its condolences and confirmed its commitment to supporting the victims' families. In a post on social media platform X, they mentioned being "deeply saddened by the tragic road accident that claimed the lives of several Indian workers," and assured that consulate officials were visiting the patients and coordinating with local authorities for assistance.

Following the incident, teams from the Traffic Accident Investigation Section were deployed to the scene to collect evidence and establish the circumstances leading to the accident. Traffic patrols were also dispatched to secure the area, manage vehicle flow, and facilitate the movement of rescue units.

Brigadier bin Suwaidan issued a cautionary warning about the dangers of stopping on highways due to vehicle breakdowns, reminding motorists to ensure their vehicles are in good condition prior to travel. He advised drivers facing unexpected vehicle issues to activate hazard lights, deploy warning triangles, ensure passenger safety, and contact police if necessary.

As investigations continue, authorities are focused on improving safety measures to prevent similar incidents in the future. The tragic event has raised concerns about road safety standards and driver vigilance in high-traffic areas.
