Samsung Launches New Galaxy Z Foldables and Smartwatches for Pre-Order
Samsung Electronics has debuted its latest foldable smartphones and smartwatches, marking a significant addition to its product lineup. The new devices, including the Galaxy Z Fold8, Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, and Galaxy Z Flip8, were unveiled earlier this week and are now open for pre-order on Amazon UK.
The Galaxy Z Fold8 presents an innovative 4:3 aspect ratio inner display along with a broader design. The Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, a successor to the Galaxy Z Fold7, is equipped with enhanced hardware. Both foldable models are scheduled for delivery starting on 3 August but are currently listed without discounts.
In addition, Samsung introduced the Galaxy Watch9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra2, which are available in sizes of 40mm and 44mm, and a 47mm variant, respectively. These smartwatches are powered by the Snapdragon SW6100 Wear chipset and feature a Sapphire Crystal glass screen. They also come with larger batteries and operate on Wear OS 7, integrated with One UI Watch 9. Customers can pre-order these smartwatches, which will also begin shipping on 3 August. A discount of £30 is available when customers bundle the watches with either the Galaxy Buds4 or Buds4 Pro true wireless stereo earbuds.
Beyond Samsung's offerings, other smartphones are also seeing discounts. The Google Pixel 10a, an affordable option, has been reduced by up to £150. This model features a 6.3-inch AMOLED display, Google's Tensor G4 chipset, and a dual-rear camera setup with a 48-megapixel main sensor, alongside a 5,100mAh battery capable of wireless charging.
Furthermore, Xiaomi is presenting discounts on several of its phones as well. The flagship Xiaomi 17 Ultra has a price reduction of £200. This device includes a 6.9-inch display and a triple-rear camera system with a 50-megapixel main sensor, a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto, and a 50-megapixel ultrawide lens. The device operates on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset and boasts a 6,000mAh battery.
For a more budget-friendly option, the 512GB variant of the Poco X8 Pro Max is available for £90 less than its usual price. It features a 6.83-inch AMOLED display and is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500s chipset, equipped with an 8,500mAh battery and a dual-rear camera setup.
Samsung and other brands are leveraging these product launches and discounts to attract consumers ahead of the selling season, with the pre-order period providing early access for eager customers. As the tech landscape evolves, such innovations remain crucial for maintaining competitive advantage in the smartphone and wearable technology markets.
