Ravi Mohan Joins Lokesh Cinematic Universe Amid Personal Struggles
Tamil actor Ravi Mohan has recently made headlines following his announcement earlier this month that he would cease acting until his divorce from estranged wife Aarti Ravi is finalised. Just days after this declaration, filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj revealed that Ravi has joined the cast of his upcoming film, Benz, part of the expanding Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU). On Sunday, Lokesh Kanagaraj shared images of Ravi Mohan on the film's set, welcoming him to the LCU with a post on social media. He included heart and hug emojis in his message, stating, 'Welcome to the universe @iam_RaviMohan sir.' Raghava Lawrence, the lead actor of Benz, also expressed his enthusiasm, commenting, 'Happy to welcome you onboard Brother @iam_RaviMohan,' accompanied by a fire emoji. The announcement garnered significant attention from fans, many of whom expressed confusion over Ravi's rapid return to work after his emotional announcement. Comments on social media included inquiries regarding his wellbeing, with one user asking if he is 'okay now.' Earlier in the month, Keneeshaa Francis, a singer and spiritual healer, hinted at a breakup with Ravi. She announced her departure from Chennai and cited cyberbullying as a significant factor impacting her decision after a social media account linked to her was hacked and used to comment disrespectfully about Aarti. In a heartfelt press conference, Ravi broke down while discussing the intense pressure from ongoing controversies. He said, 'Until my divorce comes through, I will not act. Whenever I get my divorce, my life will be normal again... whenever this cyberbullying stops, I will return.' He also expressed good wishes for Keneeshaa, stating, 'I wish her a good life.' Ravi Mohan and Aarti were married in 2009, and he announced their separation in 2024 after relocating from their shared residence. Their divorce proceedings are currently in progress at the Chennai Family Court. Keneeshaa had maintained that she was merely a friend and healer to Ravi. However, the couple appeared at various public events together, including a wedding where they wore matching outfits. Recently, Keneeshaa alluded to their split, stating, 'I walked into this story with love. I walk out of it with silence.' The Lokesh Cinematic Universe includes successful films such as Kaithi (2019), Vikram (2022), and Leo (2023). These films share a connected narrative centred around drug trafficking. While Lokesh directed the previous films, Benz will be directed by Bakkiyaraj Kannan and will feature Raghava Lawrence in the lead role with Nivin Pauly portraying the antagonist.
