R.B. Choudary, Influential South Indian Film Producer, Dies in Crash
R.B. Choudary, a prominent figure in the South Indian film industry, died in a tragic road accident on May 5, 2026, in Rajasthan. Known as the founder of Super Good Films, his passing has left a significant impact on the Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam film sectors.
Choudary was reportedly travelling to attend a family wedding in Lilamba village. Following the ceremony, he was returning to his home with his son-in-law and the driver, Gautam, when the accident occurred near Joontha village in Beawar region. Initial reports indicate that the vehicle was navigating a national highway when a herd of cows suddenly appeared on the road. In an attempt to avoid colliding with the animals, the driver swerved sharply, leading the car to crash into a roadside barrier.
The collision was severe, resulting in extensive damage to the front of the vehicle. Choudary suffered critical injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. His son-in-law and the driver were severely injured and were quickly transported to a hospital in Jodhpur for medical care. Local police arrived at the scene shortly after the accident and arranged for Choudary's body to be sent for a post-mortem examination. His remains are anticipated to be flown to Chennai on May 6 for final rites.
The film industry is in deep mourning following the news of his death. Esteemed actors, including Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, and Chiranjeevi, have expressed their condolences. Choudary was well-respected for his role in promoting new talent and contributing to the careers of many in the film industry.
He is survived by his two sons, actors Jiiva and Jithan Ramesh, along with other family members. Colleagues and fans alike have been sharing their tributes, highlighting Choudary's significant contributions to Indian cinema and the profound legacy he leaves behind.
