Punjabi Singer Inder Kaur Found Dead Following Suspected Kidnapping
Inder Kaur's body discovered six days after her kidnapping in Ludhiana, police link the murder to an obsessive suitor's alleged actions.

Inder Kaur, a 29-year-old Punjabi singer, was discovered deceased on Tuesday after being missing for six days. The local authorities located her body in the Neelo Canal in Ludhiana. According to a police report submitted by her brother, Jotinder Singh, Inder left her home on May 13 at approximately 8:30 PM to purchase groceries but did not return.

Jotinder Singh expressed concerns over the circumstances surrounding her disappearance, pointing to Sukhwinder Singh, known as Sukha, a resident of Bhaloor village in Moga. Sukhwinder had allegedly been persistently pressuring Inder for marriage. The two had become acquainted on Instagram three years prior, but their relationship deteriorated when Inder learned of Sukhwinder's existing marriage and children. Following this revelation, she ended their connection, which reportedly left him embittered.

Police investigations suggest that Sukhwinder may have travelled from Canada to Punjab with the intention of committing this crime. On the night of May 13, he, along with accomplices, is said to have intercepted Inder's car, kidnapped her at gunpoint, and subsequently murdered her. After the alleged crime, it is believed that he fled back to Canada through Nepal.

The victim's family has raised significant concerns about how the police managed the case. An initial police report naming Sukhwinder Singh and his alleged accomplice, Karamjit Singh, was filed at the Jamalpur Police Station as early as May 15. The family believes that a prompt response from law enforcement could have potentially prevented the tragedy.

Following the recovery of Inder's body, authorities have transferred it to the Civil Hospital in Samrala, where a post-mortem examination is to be conducted. Balbir Singh, the Station House Officer at Jamalpur Police Station, confirmed that a case has been initiated under relevant legal sections and investigations are ongoing to capture the individuals involved in this case.
