Over 51,000 appointment letters were distributed to youth at the 19th Rozgar Mela, highlighting India's commitment to employment and skill development.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi presented over 51,000 appointment letters to newly recruited individuals at the 19th Rozgar Mela held on May 23, 2026. This event was conducted virtually, emphasising the government's focus on job creation in various sectors. Modi expressed his confidence in India's youth and their potential to contribute to the nation's development during his address.

The Prime Minister remarked, 'Today, more than 51,000 youth have received appointment letters for government jobs, and all of you are becoming key partners in the Vikas Yatra of the nation.' He articulated the importance of hard work and support from families and society in achieving this milestone. Notably, he recognised the collective effort of the country's 1.4 billion citizens in this accomplishment.

In his address, Modi reflected on his recent five-nation tour, asserting that it was significant in fostering international relations. He noted, 'The world is very excited about India’s youth and technological progress,' highlighting a global interest in India's development.

The agreements signed during his visits to countries such as the United Arab Emirates, the Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, and Italy aim to create employment opportunities for the youth of India. Modi specifically mentioned the strategic partnership established between ASML and Tata Electronics, which will facilitate the establishment of a semiconductor fabrication plant in Gujarat.

The Rozgar Mela, which aims to enhance employment generation, took place simultaneously at 47 locations across India. New recruits were enlisted across various Ministries and Departments, including the Ministry of Railways, the Ministry of Home Affairs, and the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

In a related event, Union Minister of State for Rural Development and Communications, Pemmasani Chandra Sekhar, attended the Rozgar Mela in Guntur, where he underlined the significance of skill development for the youth. This event further reinforced the government's commitment to transparency and structured planning in employment generation. "If every Indian draws inspiration from such leadership and acts responsibly, India can achieve the goal of becoming a developed nation sooner," he stated.

Seizing the opportunity, Chandra Sekhar encouraged young recruits to emphasise skill acquisition rather than merely obtaining certificates. He urged them to identify areas for improvement in their respective departments to enhance public service effectively.

This concerted effort towards job distribution reflects India's ongoing dedication to providing employment and fostering skill development among its youth, paving the way for future advancements in the country.
