PM Modi's Vadodara Event Tickets Sell Out in One Hour

Tickets for Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's upcoming programme in Vadodara were fully booked within just one hour of being made available on the platform BookMyShow. Officially titled "NaMo for Viksit Bharat," the event is set to take place at the Maharaja Sayajirao University Pavilion Ground on September 8. According to reports from the Press Trust of India (PTI), over 42,000 individuals have been waitlisted since registration was closed shortly after it opened.

The event will adopt a fully digital entry system designed to streamline the registration and verification process. Participants who secured tickets will receive M-Tickets through their BookMyShow accounts, featuring a live QR code for easy access at the venue.

This latest event is part of a series of significant public engagements by Modi, who previously held major events that attracted large audiences. Notably, his community event in Houston in 2019 saw more than 50,000 registered attendees, while the 'Melbourne Meets Modi' event this year similarly sold out within hours, with expectations of 35,000 to 40,000 attendees.

During his visit to Vadodara, Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for development projects valued over ₹35,000 crore (approximately £4 billion). As reported by ANI, he will dedicate three sections of the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor (WDFC) to the nation. These sections span a total of 326 route kilometres and are built at a cost exceeding ₹20,700 crore.

The new freight corridor will enhance connectivity between industrial hubs and the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority, promising to lower logistics costs and ease pressure on Mumbai's railway infrastructure. Additionally, Modi will flag off freight train services from the New Sanand, New Makarpura, and New Umbergaon stations, along with a new passenger service from Tanda Road to Vadodara's Pratapnagar.

Furthermore, he will dedicate the Jobat-Tanda Road rail line, which aims to connect remote tribal regions of Alirajpur with the broader railway network. In anticipation of the large turnout, Gujarat Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi led a 'Viksit Bharat Padayatra' in Vadodara the evening prior to Modi's visit, highlighting the local enthusiasm for the incoming developments. He noted that registration demand exceeded available capacity by three times. To accommodate those unable to secure seats at the main venue, special fan zones have been arranged by the Vadodara Municipal Corporation.

The event marks another pivotal moment as India continues to enhance its infrastructure and connectivity, aimed at fostering economic growth and development across the nation. As the public eagerly awaits Modi's address, the rapid sell-out of tickets reflects significant public interest in the government's ongoing initiatives.
