Patna Court Delays Arrest of YouTube Educator Khan Sir Over Firing Incident
A local court in Patna has granted interim protection from arrest to Faisal Khan, known as "Khan Sir," an educator and popular YouTuber, in relation to a firing incident that occurred outside his coaching institute on June 2. The ruling was issued on June 9 following an anticipatory bail application submitted by Khan's lawyer, Arvind Kumar Mahuar.
Reportedly, since the incident, Mr. Khan has been difficult to locate. The court has scheduled the next hearing for June 20, during which he is expected to address an FIR lodged against him at Kadamkuan police station on June 4. This FIR was based on statements from two of Khan's security guards, who claimed they fired into the air under Khan's instructions.
"The court has stayed his arrest until further orders and has instructed the presentation of the case diary and details about the guards previously detained by the police, along with their seized weapons for forensic testing," Mahuar conveyed to media outlets. He added, "My client has no direct involvement in the incident."
The altercation is said to have been part of an ongoing rivalry between Khan Global Studies, Khan's institute, and a competing coaching institution. On June 2, approximately 15 to 20 individuals reportedly gathered outside Khan's coaching centre in Musallahpur Hat, attacking one of his guards, Chun Chun Kumar.
Following this confrontation, Khan's bodyguards were filmed firing into the air, leading to their arrest by police, which also included the seizure of their weapons for forensic examination. Meanwhile, the court has denied bail to Raushan Anand, owner of the rival Gyan Bindu coaching institute, and two others arrested in connection with the incident.
Bihar's Education Minister, Mithilesh Tiwari, stated that the state government plans to establish a policy within the next three months aimed at preventing such rivalries among coaching institutes that disrupt public order. The court's ruling permits investigators to question Khan in relation to the case but bars any coercive or punitive actions against him while his interim protection remains effective.
