The OnePlus 15R will debut in India on 17 December, featuring the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset and dual 50MP cameras.

OnePlus has officially announced that its latest smartphone, the OnePlus 15R, will be launched in India on 17 December 2025. This model is expected to differentiate itself significantly from the OnePlus Ace 6, which was introduced in China in October 2025.

Key Specifications and Variations

According to credible sources, including tipster Debayan Roy, the Indian variant of the OnePlus 15R will feature a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor. This represents a notable upgrade from the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip that powers the OnePlus Ace 6 and the OnePlus 13 series. The transition to the newer chipset is anticipated to enhance the device's performance, aligning it better with the expectations of the Indian market.

In terms of photography, the OnePlus 15R is expected to boast a dual-camera setup on the rear, comprising two 50MP sensors. One of these will likely include optical image stabilisation, although it remains unclear whether the second camera will be utilised for telephoto or ultrawide shots. By contrast, the OnePlus Ace 6 features a 50MP main sensor paired with an 8MP ultrawide lens.

Expected Pricing

Speculation suggests that the starting price for the OnePlus 15R in India could be around ₹44,999. This pricing strategy may mirror the recent increase in costs seen with the OnePlus 15, which has raised expectations for similar adjustments across the company’s product lines.

Design and Additional Features

While the internal specifications are set to change significantly, the external design of the OnePlus 15R is expected to remain largely similar to that of the OnePlus Ace 6. It is anticipated to retain multiple IP ratings for dust and water resistance, including IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K, allowing for enhanced durability in various conditions.

The OnePlus 15R will also feature OxygenOS 16, ensuring a modern and intuitive user experience. The device will be available in two colour options: Charcoal Black and Mint Breeze.

What's Next?

In conjunction with the launch of the OnePlus 15R, the company will also unveil the OnePlus Pad Go 2 on 17 December. This tablet is expected to include several enhancements over its predecessor, including 5G support and colour options of Shadow Black and Lavender Drift.

As the launch date approaches, further details regarding the specifications and features of both devices are likely to emerge, generating excitement among technology enthusiasts and OnePlus fans alike.
