Niti Taylor Discusses Casting Couch Incident in Telugu Cinema
Actor Niti Taylor reveals her experience with casting couch in Tollywood, leading her to stop working in Telugu films after an unsettling encounter.

Actor Niti Taylor, known for her television roles, has disclosed a troubling experience in the Telugu film industry that led her to abandon her film career. In a recent interview with Hauterrfly, she shared her story about a casting couch encounter with a director during her early career in Tollywood. Niti expressed her discomfort after the director suggested that a personal relationship would be necessary for her to secure a future project.

She recalled receiving a call from the director after completing her first film, during which he made the unsettling proposition. "The director who did the first film with me called me for another movie when we were done with it. Then he said, 'but you will have to sleep with me for it this time'. You do not realise, you do not know how to react. I just cut the call, I blocked his number, I called up my mom, and I’m like, imagine that budda, old man," Niti recounted. This experience left her shocked and led her to block the director's number without confronting him further.

Niti also mentioned that she had observed this director interacting with other actresses in a similar manner, which contributed to her decision to exit the industry. "I saw him with other chicks and stuff like that. I never knew when he would try this with me. That's when I decided I would never do any movies ever again," she explained.

The actor, who made her Telugu debut in 2012 with the film "Mem Vayasuku Vacham," has featured in three Telugu films but has since focused her career on television. The other two films she acted in, "Pelli Pustakam" and "Love Dot Com," did not achieve commercial success, further solidifying her departure from Tollywood.

Despite her foray into film, Niti Taylor has found notable success on television, with her breakthrough role in the series "Kaisi Yeh Yaariyan." She has continued to work in various shows, including her recent participation in the reality series "Alliance."

The absence of other significant projects in Telugu cinema has allowed Niti to focus on her television career, where she feels more secure and can express her talents without compromising her principles.
