Mary Millben and Abhijeet Dipke Clash Over Alleged US Funding
Singer Mary Millben claims the Cockroach Janata Party is funded by US donors, sparking a fierce exchange with party founder Abhijeet Dipke.

Mary Millben, an American singer and supporter of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, recently asserted that the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) is financed by American donors. This statement has ignited a heated discourse online, particularly on the social media platform X.

The founder of CJP, Abhijeet Dipke, responded critically to Millben's comments, questioning her authority to engage in the internal matters of India. This verbal exchange coincided with protests from opposition parties, who are calling for the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over alleged discrepancies in the electoral roll revision process.

Millben, who has expressed admiration for Prime Minister Modi on various occasions, suggested that certain US donors are part of a strategy to identify and radicalise individuals educated in the United States, aiming to instigate unrest in their home countries. She contended that these efforts have hindered progress and governance in India, though she provided no specific evidence to support her claims regarding financial ties.

In her remarks, Millben urged young Indians to embark on a peaceful protest against what she perceives as disruptive influences. She stated, "Do not fear, my young patriots. Your Prime Minister, who has served India for 25 years, 12 as Prime Minister, is not going to bow to disruptive forces from my country."

Dipke's retort focused on Millben's foreign status and her right to comment. He said, "Who gave foreign nationals the right to interfere in India's internal affairs? We are more than capable of dealing with our own issues." He also accused Prime Minister Modi of seeking American backing to undermine Indian citizens.

Millben countered, asserting, "The PM doesn't need American support. He has 1.5 billion beautiful Indian citizens who support him." She predicted Modi's continued success in future elections, stating, "And will again in 2029. That's the truth." Furthermore, she discouraged Dipke from relying on supposed US donor support, suggesting that he should instead use his education and skills for the benefit of India.

Mary Millben, renowned in India for her performances of patriotic songs, is known for her heartfelt renditions, including 'Jana Gana Mana' during Modi's visit to the United States in 2023. Her statements have resonated with some segments of Modi's supporters, while also drawing criticism and skepticism from others who question foreign interference in domestic politics.
