The heightened security measures are largely attributed to the presence of United States President Donald Trump, who is attending the match, his only appearance at this year's tournament.

Spain is set to face Argentina in the final at the venue, which has a capacity of 82,500. The kick-off is scheduled for 15:00 local time (20:00 BST). The United States Secret Service is overseeing security for the event, implementing thorough checks that have contributed to lengthy waits.

Fans and media are now required to undergo security protocols reminiscent of airport screenings, due to the involvement of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), which is typically responsible for safety in airports across the nation. One media representative reported being redirected to a different queue because there were no security dogs available to inspect bags at their initial entrance.

World Cup volunteers stationed at the site have indicated that the turnout this year is significantly higher than during the previous matches held at the stadium. Gates were opened to supporters at 11:00 local time, four hours in advance of kick-off, and additional gateways have been opened irregularly to alleviate the congestion.
