At least 15 individuals were killed in a militant attack on a security check post in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan on Friday, as reported by the military. The deceased included military personnel, police officers, and a government official.

The assault occurred overnight in the Tank district, where militants drove an explosives-laden vehicle into the perimeter wall of the check post, resulting in significant damage. The military confirmed that security forces retaliated by killing 12 militants during the incident.

A military statement described the victims as “brave sons of soil,” noting that 12 military members, two police officers, and one official from the forestry department lost their lives in the attack. No group has officially claimed responsibility for this assault, though it aligns with rising violence attributed to the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), a group known for mounting attacks in the area.
