Leadership Change at Yatra Online: Dhruv Shringi Steps Down as CEO
Yatra Online Ltd, a prominent travel platform in India, has revealed a significant leadership change with the announcement that co-founder Dhruv Shringi will step down as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and transition to the role of Executive Chairman, effective 25 November 2025. This shift is expected to guide the company through its next phase of growth.
The appointment of Siddhartha Gupta as the new CEO marks a strategic move for Yatra, as he brings with him over 25 years of extensive experience in enterprise technology and business-to-business (B2B) software-as-a-service (SaaS). His previous roles include senior positions at global corporations such as SAP and HP, as well as various high-growth SaaS ventures both in India and internationally.
In his new capacity, Siddhartha Gupta will oversee the company's operations, focusing on growth initiatives and the enhancement of Yatra's travel services portfolio. "My focus will be on accelerating growth, enhancing our technology and service portfolio, and delivering greater value to our customers," Gupta stated, indicating a proactive approach towards the company's future.
Dhruv Shringi, who has been at the helm of Yatra since its inception, will now work closely with the board and senior leadership to shape the long-term vision and expansion strategies of the company. "With Siddhartha coming on board, we are bringing in the right leadership at the right time. His depth of experience in enterprise sales and SaaS aligns perfectly with Yatra’s B2B-first strategy," Shringi remarked, reflecting confidence in the transition.
Over the past year, Yatra has successfully onboarded 148 new corporate clients, which the company estimates could generate an annual business potential exceeding ₹700 crore (approximately £70 million). This growth is reflected in the company's recent financial performance, reporting a 48% increase in revenue from operations to ₹350.8 crore in the quarter ending September 2025. Additionally, Yatra's profit for the same quarter rose to ₹14.27 crore, contributing to a total revenue of ₹560.6 crore and a profit of ₹30.27 crore for the first half of the financial year 2025-2026.
The leadership changes at Yatra come at a time when many companies in India are experiencing executive turnover. A recent report by Spencer Stuart indicated that 16 chief executives of firms listed on the BSE 200 index resigned in the first half of 2025, a trend reminiscent of the leadership instability observed during the Covid-19 pandemic.
As Yatra Online embarks on this new chapter under Siddhartha Gupta's leadership, the company aims to strengthen its position in the travel sector and explore further growth opportunities both domestically and internationally.
