Laal Hit Janta Party Advocates Civic Values at Recent Meeting
The Laal Hit Janta Party convened to discuss civic responsibility, democratic accountability, and national issues amidst ongoing protests by a rival group.

The Laal Hit Janta Party held a meeting on Sunday to emphasise civic values and national development. This assembly took place at Malviya Smriti Bhawan, located on Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Marg. The party, which draws its name from a well-known pest control brand, has formed as a satirical challenge to the existing Cockroach Janata Party (CJP). During the meeting, Ayan Bhatnagar, the party convenor, was joined by filmmakers Richa Gupta, Pawan Nagpal, and Atul Gangwar, as noted in a press release from the party.

In light of the CJP's ongoing protests, Bhatnagar reiterated the necessity for political accountability, alongside lawful and democratic engagement. He stressed the importance of scrutinising public actions within a framework of constitutional integrity. The Laal Hit Janta Party is particularly concerned with the independence of constitutional institutions, including the Election Commission. This is especially relevant amid calls for the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.

The party highlighted the need for public dialogue regarding electoral systems to be underpinned by verified facts and open processes. Key issues raised also included national security, infrastructure, entrepreneurship, digital services, and public welfare. The party underscored that initiatives to combat unlawful activities should remain within the boundaries of constitutional law.

While acknowledging the importance of peaceful demonstrations as a fundamental democratic right, the organization urged protest planners to consider their effect on local businesses, workers, commuters, and communities. Transparency and accountability were emphasised as essential in public life. The Laal Hit Janta Party called for rigorous scrutiny of political organisations, particularly regarding their funding and suspected connections to illegal activities.

Moving forward, the party aims to enhance civic awareness, boost community engagement, and ensure organisational transparency. The recent meeting coincides with a series of protests held by the CJP in the capital, which have included demonstrations against former Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. The CJP is presently advocating for the resignation of Gyanesh Kumar, accusing him of irregularities in the electoral process and the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls.
