Kerala Government Allocates Portfolios: Key Roles Assigned
The Kerala government has officially declared the allocation of portfolios within its newly formed cabinet. Chief Minister V D Satheesan retains responsibility for an extensive range of 35 departments, which notably include Finance, Law, General Administration, and Ports. This information was confirmed through a notification from Kerala Lok Bhavan.
The consolidation of several critical departments under the chief minister's oversight grants considerable decision-making authority. Senior Congress leader Ramesh Chennithala has been given the significant Home and Vigilance portfolios. In addition, he will oversee three other departments as part of his role in the cabinet.
The announcement follows closely after the recent swearing-in of the new government in Kerala, ensuring immediate governance continuity.
Among other ministerial assignments, Shamsudheen will manage General Education, while Roji M John has been entrusted with Higher Education. A P Anil Kumar will focus on Land and Revenue, and P K Kunhalikutty will take charge of Industries, Information Technology, Textiles, along with four additional departments.
