Kannada film actor Darshan Thoogudeepa, currently detained in connection with an alleged murder case, received a visit from his wife, Vijayalakshmi, and their son, Vineesh, on the occasion of their wedding anniversary. Darshan has been in police custody since June 11, 2024, alongside accomplices accused in the murder of a fan named Renukaswamy.

During this recent visit at Parappana Agrahara Central Prison in Bengaluru, the family met for approximately 30 minutes under strict surveillance, where all interactions were recorded. A prison source indicated that the meeting was carefully monitored by a jail official.

Vijayalakshmi and Darshan exchanged heartfelt moments, with Vijayalakshmi sharing an image on her social media platform that depicted them during happier times. In her post, she wrote a touching note expressing her unwavering support, stating, "I will hold your hand through every storm and every silence. Even when situations try to pull us apart, my heart will always choose you. And even if the whole world stands against you I will stand beside you, choosing you through it all."

The circumstances of the case reveal that Renukaswamy had allegedly sent abusive messages to Pavithra Gowda, a woman connected to Darshan, which reportedly led to the incident. Despite speculation regarding Darshan's relationship with Pavithra, his legal representatives have categorically denied such claims, asserting that they are merely friends.

Alongside his family, Vinod Prabhakar, son of the late actor Tiger Prabhakar, also visited Darshan during this time. Previously, Darshan had made headlines for requesting “poison” from a Bengaluru city court during a health crisis, indicating desperation due to his living conditions in the prison.

After his request for a transfer to a different facility was denied, he expressed extreme frustration, saying, "Just poison me, please pass this order." The court confirmed there were no substantial grounds to approve his transfer, but did allow him certain concessions, including access to outdoor spaces within the prison premises. Darshan has reported physical health issues during his detention, claiming he had not seen sunlight for an extended period and had suffered from a fungal infection.

The court has since permitted Darshan additional basic facilities, including a separate bed and bedding, while underscoring that any failure to comply with prison regulations could prompt disciplinary action from prison authorities.
