Jammu and Kashmir Appoints Liaison Officers for Film Festival
The Jammu and Kashmir Government has appointed 25 officials to serve as Liaison Officers for the forthcoming International Film Festival of Jammu & Kashmir, which is set to take place between September 7 and September 10, 2026. The appointments were made through Government Order No. 1483-JK(GAD) of 2026, issued by the General Administration Department on September 4, following a request from the Directorate of Information in Jammu and Kashmir.
These officers have been selected from various departments and institutions and are tasked with coordinating activities and facilitating interactions with visiting VIPs and dignitaries during the event. The list includes senior officers from the Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Service (JKAS), such as Khalid Jahangir, who is the Commissioner of Food and Drug Administration, and Mehmood Ahmad Shah, Managing Director of the Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited.
Additional notable appointments include Shiv Kumar Gupta, who serves as the Controller of Legal Metrology; Sudershan Kumar, Managing Director of the Jammu and Kashmir Trade Promotion Organisation; and Mohammad Shahid Saleem Dar, Managing Director of the Small Industries Development Corporation.
Other appointed officials include Arun Kumar Manhas, Director of Industries and Commerce in Jammu; Mussarat-ul-Islam, Director of Handloom and Handicrafts in Kashmir; and Vikas Sharma, Special Secretary to the Housing and Urban Development Department, among others.
The full list comprises directors and secretaries across various governmental sectors, ensuring a comprehensive framework for the successful execution of the festival's activities.
These appointments will come into effect for the duration of the festival from September 7 to September 10, 2026. The officers are instructed to report to the Director of Information, Jammu and Kashmir, in Srinagar immediately for briefings on their roles and responsibilities during the festival.
