Iran Denies Assassination Plot Against Barron Trump, Targets Netanyahu

Mohsen Rezaei, Iran’s security chief, has rejected allegations of an assassination plot targeting Barron Trump, the son of US President Donald Trump. In an interview, Rezaei asserted that these claims are falsehoods concocted by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to instil fear and influence President Trump's decision-making processes.

In comments aired by Lebanon's Al Manar TV, Rezaei stated that Netanyahu has caused Trump to experience panic, asserting that the Israeli leader uses misinformation as a political tactic. “These are major lies that Netanyahu managed to trick Trump with,” he said.

The controversy arose when Iranian state media recently circulated a video suggesting that Barron Trump’s movements are being monitored and that a $10 million bounty had been placed on his life. Rezaei strongly dismissed these accusations as fabricated, saying, “If Iran decided to carry out an assassination, nothing would prevent us from doing so,” however, he maintained that this allegation was unfounded.

The US Secret Service has acknowledged its awareness of the video, asserting that it investigates any material that may pose a threat to those under its protection. Reports indicate that US intelligence has received multiple warnings from Israel that Iran had intentions to target Trump. This included an incident where Trump's transport was altered for security reasons during a visit to Turkey earlier this summer.

Following these alarming claims, Rezaei issued a dire warning to Netanyahu, saying, “We will send Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of the Zionist regime, to hell,” should hostilities with the United States worsen. He indicated that Iran is ready to retaliate against US economic interests if the ongoing economic pressures do not ease.

Rezaei's statements reflect the escalating tensions between Iran and Israel amid broader geopolitical challenges. The Iranian official further mentioned that any renewed conflict with Israel would represent a different phase of warfare.
