Infosys Reports 6% Increase in Net Profit Amid Growth Guidance Cuts
Infosys Limited, a leading information technology services company based in India, has reported a 6% increase in its net profit for the second quarter. The company’s net profit for the period reached ₹7,823 crores (£952 million), compared to ₹7,387 crores in the same quarter of the previous year. The rise in profit comes at a time when the company has also declared its intention to distribute an interim dividend of ₹26 per share.
Despite this positive financial report, Infosys has revised its growth guidance for the fiscal year. The company now estimates growth in the region of 1% to 2%, down from previous forecasts. This adjustment has raised concerns among investors regarding Infosys's ability to maintain its performance in the face of challenging market conditions.
The reduced guidance reflects a broader trend affecting the technology sector, which has faced various headwinds, including fluctuating demand for services and macroeconomic uncertainties.
In its statement, Infosys emphasised its commitment to enhancing operational efficiency and navigating through current challenges. It remains to be seen how these changes will impact the company's stock performance and investor confidence moving forward. Analysts suggest that close monitoring of the company's strategic adjustments will be essential in the coming quarters.
