Minister of State for External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh has arrived in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, for an official four-day bilateral visit. His arrival on Saturday was met with a warm welcome from Dr Tariq Al Hamad, the Deputy Minister for International Affairs at the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development.
During his visit, Singh expressed eagerness to engage in fruitful discussions with Saudi officials. He stated on social media, 'I look forward to fruitful engagements with Saudi counterparts and meaningful interactions with the Indian diaspora and business leaders in the Kingdom.'
The bilateral visit, scheduled to conclude on September 8, marks Singh's first official trip to Saudi Arabia. This visit holds significant importance as it aims to strengthen the collaborative relationship between India and Saudi Arabia, particularly in areas such as human resources, labour, and socio-economic development.
Meetings are planned with key Saudi officials, including the Minister of Human Resources and Social Development and the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs. The Indian Minister will also connect with the Indian community in Saudi Arabia, reflecting India's commitment to the welfare of its overseas citizens.
The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) highlighted that the discussions would encompass mutual interests, including skill development, climate change, and international relations. This visit follows previous diplomatic engagements, where India's Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Vipul, spoke with Saudi Arabia’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Adel Al-Jubeir, emphasising the historical partnership between the two nations.
The visit aims to reinforce the multifaceted strategic partnership that exists between India and Saudi Arabia, showcasing both countries' determination to collaborate on shared global challenges.
