India and the US Engage in Nuclear Energy Cooperation Talks

In Washington, D.C., Indian and United States officials convened to discuss the burgeoning collaboration in nuclear energy, specifically in civil applications. The discussions come amidst a global push for sustainable energy solutions and enhanced nuclear cooperation. This meeting is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen bilateral relations in the nuclear sector, which have been on an upward trajectory since the signing of the India-U.S. Civil Nuclear Agreement in 2008.

Ajit Kumar Mohanty, Chairman of India’s Atomic Energy Commission, attended the meeting and emphasized the importance of nuclear energy in addressing the energy needs of both countries. "By integrating the strengths of nuclear and maritime sectors, we can establish a sustainable future for energy and shipping," Mohanty stated.
