India Increases Humanitarian Aid to Palestine with New Hospital
India announces significant aid to Palestine, including plans for a 200-bed super-speciality hospital in the West Bank.

India has announced a substantial increase in its humanitarian assistance to Palestine, including plans for the construction of a 200-bed super-speciality hospital in the West Bank. This initiative was formalised through a memorandum of understanding (MoU), signifying a dedicated effort by India to enhance healthcare capabilities in the region. The project aims to address the pressing healthcare needs of the local population, which has been adversely affected by ongoing conflicts and limited medical resources. The hospital is expected to provide specialised services that are currently lacking in the territory, thereby improving healthcare access for thousands of residents. Furthermore, Indian officials are also exploring the possibility of deploying a field hospital in Gaza, where recent escalations in violence have left the healthcare system struggling to cope. The move is part of India’s broader strategy to strengthen its ties with Palestine and support its development through various humanitarian initiatives. A senior official from the Indian government stated that this initiative underscores India’s commitment to the well-being of the Palestinian people and its recognition of the challenges they face. The MoU reflects India's ongoing engagement in the region, aiming to provide not only medical assistance but also to foster goodwill and stability. This announcement follows a series of diplomatic efforts by India to enhance its partnerships in the Middle East, particularly focusing on humanitarian aid and development cooperation.
