Hina Khan and Rubina Dilaik Discuss Aamir Khan's New Marriage
Bollywood actor Aamir Khan has recently been in the spotlight following his marriage to Gauri Spratt. This topic sparked a discussion between fellow actors Hina Khan and Rubina Dilaik on the talk show The Point of View, where they expressed differing opinions on the implications of Khan's third marriage. Hina emphasised that societal norms often frown upon multiple marriages, while Rubina suggested that a celebrity's private life can sometimes affect their public image and career choices.
During the episode, the couples, including their husbands Rocky Jaiswal and Abhinav Shukla, held a dialogue about the impact of a star's personal decisions on their professional success. Jaiswal initiated the conversation by mentioning the backlash Aamir Khan has faced over his third marriage. Rubina opined that a celebrity’s personal life could influence their films and career, while Hina countered that personal choices should not impact an actor's professional achievements. Hina questioned the logic behind judging an actor based on their marital status, saying, "By that logic, none of Aamir Khan's films should have worked."
Rubina argued that Aamir's life was not traditionally viewed as controversial, to which Hina replied, highlighting the ongoing debates surrounding his marriage. "The average person would think, 'Seriously, he's getting married again?'" she explained, underscoring societal perceptions regarding divorce and remarriage. Despite their differing views, both actors agreed that Aamir Khan remains a beloved figure, and his talent overshadows personal controversies.
Hina acknowledged that Aamir's friendly relationships with his former wives, Reena Dutta and Kiran Rao, was commendable. She noted that while societal attitudes towards divorce and remarriage have evolved, many communities still harbour reservations about such unions. The discussion concluded with both Hina and Rubina affirming their respect for Aamir, stating, "He is a good guy," reflecting a shared admiration for the actor, regardless of his marital choices.
The marriage between Aamir Khan and Gauri Spratt took place in a private ceremony in Mumbai on July 5, with around 150 guests in attendance. This marks Aamir's third marriage; he was previously wed to Reena Dutta and Kiran Rao. Gauri, originally from Bengaluru, has a son from her earlier marriage and has transitioned from the haircare industry to working with Aamir Khan Productions. Their relationship spans nearly 25 years, beginning in Bengaluru before they lost touch and later reconnected in 2023, thanks to Aamir's cousin Nuzhat Khan.
The candid dialogue between Hina Khan and Rubina Dilaik highlights the complex intersections of celebrity culture, personal choices, and societal expectations, particularly in the context of marriage and divorce.
