Global Peace Honours 2025: Tributes to Terror Attack Victims
The Global Peace Honours 2025 held in Mumbai witnessed a moving tribute to victims of terrorism, with prominent Bollywood figures including Ranveer Singh and Shah Rukh Khan in attendance. The event aimed to honour those who lost their lives in the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, the Pahalgam attack, and the recent Delhi blast.
Ranveer Singh, known for his impactful performances, led the tributes during the ceremony. He paid homage to the victims of these tragic events and recognised the resilience of India's armed forces. Among the attendees were other notable figures from the entertainment industry, including Suniel Shetty, Karisma Kapoor, and Manisha Koirala.
During his heartfelt address, Ranveer Singh introduced Dr. Sadanand Date, a distinguished officer who was severely injured during the 26/11 attacks. Singh praised Dr. Date's dedication of 35 years to national service, highlighting his contributions to various law enforcement agencies that emerged following the attacks. "He dedicated 35 years of his life to the nation... He fulfilled his responsibilities with complete sincerity in organisations such as the Crime Branch, EOW, and NIA," Ranveer stated, calling for applause for the courage displayed by Dr. Date.
Dr. Sadanand Date was one of the first responders during the 26/11 attacks, directly confronting the terrorists involved in the siege. His bravery and commitment have made him a symbol of resilience in the face of terror.
Shah Rukh Khan also took the stage to share his thoughts on the impact of terrorism. In a video shared by ANI, he expressed, "My humble tribute to the innocent people who lost their lives in the 26/11 terrorist attack, the Pahalgam terrorist attack, and the recent Delhi blasts, and my respectful salute to our brave security personnel who were martyred in these attacks." His words resonated with the audience, as he called for unity and compassion among citizens.
Emphasising the need for harmony, Khan encouraged attendees to rise above divisions based on caste and creed. He remarked, "Let us all take steps towards peace together... so that the martyrdom of our heroes for the peace of our country is not in vain."
The star-studded event not only celebrated the memory of those lost but also served as a platform for promoting peace and solidarity in society. Various celebrities graced the red carpet, showcasing their support for the cause. The Global Peace Honours 2025 symbolised a collective commitment to remembering victims of violence and promoting a message of hope and unity for the future.
